WELCOME TO THE TENAFLY MIDDLE SCHOOL MEDIA CENTER
 
The TMS Library/Media Center’s purpose is to act as an information center for students and staff. An extensive collection of books (both fiction and nonfiction) is available. Most items circulate for 4 weeks. Our excellent reference collection and magazines can be borrowed for 1-3 days. The media center also has 14 computers for student and staff use with access to the Internet and Microsoft Outlook (school e-mail). Several subscription databases are also available (see list at bottom of web page).  A scanner and a printer/copier are available as well.

Students are encouraged to make use of the print collection, as well as the new desk top computers.  Proficiency in using technology, as well as a love of reading are emphasized.

Students are welcome to use the facility before and after school for research, book selection, reading or homework.  Hours are listed below.

Announcements
NEW BOOKS

New library books are on display along the window counters. They can be borrowed for 4 weeks. Please come and check some out!!

The 2016 Newbery Medal award went to a picture book for younger readers.
The 2016 Newbery Honor books were:The War that Saved My Life,” written by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley, “Roller Girl” written and illustrated by Victoria Jamieson and “Echo” written by Pam Muñoz Ryan. All three books are available in the TMS Library!

GRAPHIC NOVELS - The library has a collection of graphic novels which have received great reviews for middle school students. Theyb can be found on 2 display racks on the window counter near the paperback book stacks.

STEM BOOKS - The library also has a collection of Maker Space books. They can be found on a display rack on the window counter across from the main entrance to the library. COME IN AND CHECK THEM OUT!!
